Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky continues to draw praise from across the football industry.

There was an initial shock to the Chicago Bears trading up to the No. 2 overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft to draft North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, but with the dust settling, Trubisky is starting to draw praise across the football industry.

The latest praise of Trubisky came from Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer. While Meyer is cautious of Trubisky only starting one year in college, the Buckeyes coach does see talent in the Bears’ rookie quarterback.

"“He’s from Mentor, Ohio. He’s from 15 minutes from my hometown,” Meyer said of the former North Carolina Tar Heel. “We tried to recruit him. Very talented guy. But as far as talent and quality kid, he’s going to be great, it might take a minute.”"

After an impressive rookie mini-camp one week ago, Trubisky drew a favorable impression from the Bears’ coaching staff. Though, the Bears’ coaching staff wouldn’t criticize their franchise quarterback after the first weekend of practice with the team.

What is encouraging to see is that Trubisky is drawing praise from those not connected to the Bears’ organization. There is no question that Bears’ general manager Ryan Pace took a significant risk by drafting Trubisky. Time and performance will be the ultimate factor in determining whether or not Pace was right in taking that risk.
