The New York Knicks are doing everything in their power to trade Carmelo Anthony, are the Chicago Bulls are logical trading partner?

I am just going to come out and say it, “who knows what the hell the Chicago Bulls are doing?”

The Bulls have reached a point where nothing should truly surprise their fan-base anymore.

More from Chicago Bulls

Case in point…

Over recent weeks, it has become abundantly clear that the New York Knicks are doing everything in their power to trade Carmelo Anthony. I know what you are thinking: *remember two years ago when everyone and their grandmothers knew Anthony made the wrong decision by signing with Knicks and the two sides when end in a better divorce*

That bitter divorce is coming.

The only team that has had more drama than the Bulls this season has been the New York Knicks. Over the course of the past month, Phil Jackson has done everything in his power to motivate Anthony. The problem is that Jackson’s motivational tactics, the same ones that worked with Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, have not worked with Anthony. In fact, Jackson’s motivational tactics for Anthony have been perceived as direct insults to the star player.

Regardless of Jackson’s intentions, it has become clear that the Knicks want to trade Anthony. With the NBA Trade Deadline approaching later this month, NBA trade rumors involving Anthony have heated up. Recent reports have suggested that the Bulls may be interested in acquiring Anthony from the Knicks.

Does Anthony make sense for the Bulls?

There was a reason why Anthony and the Bulls were a perfect fit two years ago. Anthony was looking for a NBA title and the Bulls were in the final year of their window for the NBA championship. It was the perfect setup until Anthony opted for money over a championship.

Now?

Anthony is the furthest thing from what the Bulls need. The Bulls are not in a position to win a title this season and an aging NBA Superstar does not fit the mold of a team looking to get younger and more athletic. The Bulls’ reported interest in Anthony speaks to the idea that no one truly knows what is motivating the decisions of the team’s front office.

Yes, the Chicago Bulls’ front office has no clue what the hell they are doing but even they must realize that pursuing Carmelo Anthony is not the right move.
