Chicago Blackhawks: Is it Time to Panic?

The Chicago Blackhawks started a ruthless 6 game road trip out west Tuesday night against the San Jose Sharks. If the Blackhawks go .500 or below on this road trip are they in trouble?

The Chicago Blackhawks started off their 6 game 12 day road trip with a 3-1 loss Tuesday night to the San Jose Sharks. The Blackhawks struggled on offense in the game which hasn’t been a surprise as of late.

Is it too soon to start to worry about the Blackhawks? I’m not quite sure its time to pull the fire alarm on this team, when you have talent as deep as they do its hard to get too worried about them slumping.

More from Chicago Blackhawks

One thing is for sure though, they have a tough set of games coming up and need to get some points now more than ever.

Thursday night is a perfect time for them to get a win under their belts and carry some momentum forward.

The Blackhawks will travel to Arizona to play the Coyotes and should leave with a victory. Arizona is currently at the bottom of the NHL in standings, they are currently 16-27-6. Looking at their record this should be an easy win for the Blackhawks.

After Arizona, they will travel to Dallas (21-20-10) who by most were picked to be a top team in the NHL and are struggling to find their own identity. Dallas is never an easy place to go in and get a win, so look for a hard fought game between the two teams.

Following Dallas, it gets tougher for the Hawks, they travel to Minnesota to face off against the division-leading Minnesota Wild (33-11-5) with a 6-point lead over the Blackhawks in the Central. Points are almost a must in this match-up.

The Hawks than travel up to Canada for the final two games on their road-trip. First is the Winnipeg Jets (24-25-4). The Blackhawks have the capability of defeating the Jets but so far this season in head to head match-ups with the Jets the Hawks are 0-4. A victory in Winnipeg is not a guarantee.

The last game of the circus road trip will be against the Edmonton Oilers (28-16-8), and the Oilers have been playing good hockey as of late.

Its going to be a tough road trip for a team that is struggling to score goals right now. As Blackhawk fans we can be sure of one thing, Coach Joel Quenneville will do everything in his power to make sure the team is well prepared for what’s in store.

If they can come out of this road trip with a record above .500 and some momentum things will be looking good for the Chicago Blackhawks.
