The Chicago White Sox made headlines in December for their trades of starting pitcher Chris Sale and outfielder Adam Eaton. But, there are more moves to make for general manager Rick Hahn.

The Chicago White Sox ignited their rebuild in December when they traded starting pitcher Chris Sale to the Boston Red Sox and outfielder Adam Eaton to the Washington Nationals.

The trades of Sale and Eaton was a refreshing moment for the White Sox organization. Plagued by mediocrity over the course of recent seasons, the White Sox were in desperate need of direction. By trading Sale and Eaton, it appeared that the White Sox were headed in a direction towards a rebuild as they commit to their farm system.

More from Chicago White Sox

Nearly one and half months later, the feeling is that the White Sox rebuild is incomplete.

Incomplete in the sense that there are still plenty moves that White Sox general manager Rick Hahn could make to further the rebuild. Players such as closer David Robertson, starting pitcher Jose Quintana, third baseman Todd Frazier, and outfielder Melky Cabrera should all be moved while the White Sox complete their rebuild.

After all, it’s important that Hahn realizes that the rebuild is not complete. Otherwise, the White Sox will be falling in the same trap that they do every season. The trap of not really committing to their farm system but also not having the talent to contend at the Major League level.

Acquiring top prospects Yoan Moncada and Lucas Giolito was an excellent start for the White Sox. But, the streamline of talent in the farm system is not prevalent yet. Once that streamline exists, then the Chicago White Sox will have completed their rebuild. Until then, there are still plenty moves on the table for the team to make.
