With the seventh overall selection in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select defensive end Danielle Hunter, LSU.

With both Willie Young and Jared Allen moving to the outside linebacker position, the Chicago Bears are going to need a defensive end that can start on the opposite side of Lamarr Houston.

  • LSU defensive end Danielle Hunter could be that defensive end for the Bears. It can not be stated enough that new Bears’ defensive coordinator Vic Fangio loves physical players. Not only is Hunter physical, but the former LSU defensive end also features acceleration  and awareness that has led to him drawing comparisons to Cleveland Browns’ defensive end Barkevious Mingo. Mingo was a first round draft pick for the Browns.

Of course, if Mariota is off the board by the time the Bears are on the clock in the first round, then the team likely will select an edge rusher in the first round. Meaning, Hunter would not be the selection for the Bears in the third round.

That being said, Hunter provides value for any team that selects him in the third round considering he has first or second round value.
