14th overall-Taylor Lewan-Michigan- Lewan is a big athletic freak of nature who just may fall right in the Bears lap. With Jermon Bushrod not playing so well, and likely in his last season at left tackle if he doesn’t play better anyway, it makes sense to move Kyle Long to the left tackle spot which opens up RG where Bushrod probably can be an all pro. Of course this would take great vision and guts as the line played as well together as any Bear line has in years. However could you imagine a line with Long and Lewan as your bookend tackles with Matt Slauson, and Bushrod at Guard next to them and Brian De La Puente centering it all, with Jordan Mills as your swing tackle, and Ebon Britton as your swing guard?

Alternate pick-Zack Martin-Notre Dame- Martin is an athletic tackle who projects best in a zone blocking scheme like the one the Bears employ. Many people feel that he will get kicked inside due to a lack of arm length, but I feel he’s more likely to be put on the right side as a right tackle. Has all the intangibles you’d want in a player. Experienced in a pro scheme and played against top level competition and excelled.
