The Chicago Bears continue to make waves around the league, and it's for good reasons this time. One year ago, the Bears fired Matt Eberflus following a loss to the Detroit Lions. Fast forward to 2025, and the Bears are one of the hottest teams in the league.

This year on Black Friday, Chicago took its show on the road to Philadelphia and defeated the Eagles 24-15. This was their fifth straight win, and they are sitting in first place in the NFC North. Not only are the Bears rolling, but the manner in which they beat Philadelphia shows how dangerous they can be.

Bears Dominance Over Eagles Was Very Telling

In the victory, the Bears dominated the time of possession 39:18 to 20:42. The biggest reason they were able to do that was due to their outstanding ground attack. They racked up a whopping 281 rushing yards, averaging six yards per carry.

Kyle Monangai (22 carries, 130 yards) and D’Andre Swift (18 carries, 125 yards) both logged more than 100 rushing yards on the day, making them the first pair of Bears running backs to go over that mark in the same game since Walter Payton and Matt Suhey did so versus the Detroit Lions on Nov. 10, 1985.

After this performance, the Bears now lead the NFL in rushing offense, averaging 153.8 yards per game. And after this outing, Ben Johnson still expressed to the media that he wished he had run the ball even more. As the weather gets colder, this type of offense carries over against any opponent. It's also worth noting that Caleb Williams has completed less than 60% of his passes in eight of his nine games. Having a reliable rushing attack makes things immensely easier on the offense as a whole and prevents Williams from playing as if he needs to make things happen to give Chicago a chance to win.

In the contest against the Eagles, Williams went 17-of-36 for 154 passing yards, one passing touchdown, and one interception. There's room for improvement there, of course, but imagine how the offense will look when Williams is firing on all cylinders?

Not only did the Bears dominate offensively, but the defense continued to take the ball away, as they've done all season long. The Bears grabbed an interception and forced a fumble on the Tush Push, the same play that has been nearly impossible to stop.

Chicago also got Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon back for this game, giving them more firepower in the secondary. The Bears have found a variety of ways to win during the 2025 campaign, but this performance against the defending Super Bowl champion on the Eagles' home field is huge.

Chicago is red hot right now and is only getting better. Week 13 put that on full display, and teams are the league should be worried about the Bears.
