The Chicago Bears used the 2025 NFL Draft in order to help make life easier on franchise quarterback Caleb Williams, as the team's first three selections all came on the offensive side of the ball.
After picking Colston Loveland and Luther Burden III with their first two selections, new head coach Ben Johnson and Bears GM Ryan Poles elected to turn their attention to the offensive line by making Ozzy Trapilo the next prospect to come off of the board in order to call Chicago their first home in the NFL.
The former Boston College Eagles standout is already making himself a fan-favorite by making it known that he is here to do whatever he can in order to help this Bears team win games and compete for Super Bowls. One of the ways Trapilo is showing his willingness to adapt to whatever the coaching staff asks of him is by putting in the time during the pre-draft process to work on his technique at every position on the offensive line, outside of center.
"I would just be ready to fill wherever is needed," Trapilo said, via Bears Wire. "That's the main goal, right? Get on the field as soon as possible, so that is kind of how I focused my training these last few months. I think I've done a good job with that, so I wouldn't have a preference at the moment."
With that type of attitude, coupled with the type of technique Trapilo possesses along the offensive line in passing situations, it is no wonder why Pro Football Focus singled him out as a potential steal in the 2025 NFL Draft for whichever team landed him.
"Ozzy Trapilo could be a steal: The Boston College product performed well on true pass sets last year, which may be an indication that he can outperform his likely mid-round draft slot."
With a brand new offense being installed in Chicago, linemen like Trapilo are paramount to any team's success as they will help keep Williams standing upright while also opening running lanes for the Bears' ground attack.
