The Bears were destroyed by the Lions in Week 16, though there was one glimmer of hope during a game filled with despair. Chicago's front office hasn't built confidence, but even the least intelligent teams could see that Ben Johnson needs to develop Caleb Williams.

Detroit's offensive coordinator is widely regarded as the best in the NFL at his position. He put on a masterclass against Chicago, proving that he's the clear choice to develop Caleb Williams.

Bears fans know that Ryan Poles and company are terrible at making decisions, yet even those jokers couldn't screw this one up. It's the most obvious hire imaginable.

Bears Must Hire Lions OC Ben Johnson After Demolition

Chicago's front office and ownership has proven to be incompetent. Even still, Johnson's genuis is too obvious for even Ryan Poles to screw up. Caleb Williams needs a coach who knows offense, so Johnson should be the clear top choice.

The McCaskey family is known for horrible decisions, illustrated by how terribly the organization has performed in recent years. Johnson could help turn things around, though it's unclear whether or not the Bears are smart enough to realize it.

Detroit put up 475 yards of total offense in a 34-17 win. This matchup was over before it even started thanks to the wild intelligence gap between the front offices, so the only remaining question is whether or not Chicago is smart enough to realize it.

Previous history suggests they aren't. Poles is one of the NFL's least-successful general managers, determined to construct rosters built around name value instead of talent. Williams might be destined to fail because he was drafted by a moronic franchise, though there's still time to turn things around.

Hopefully, the Bears will realize that someone like Johnson can lead this team to a Super Bowl. Based on the decisions this front office has made though that feels unlikely.
