Chicago Bears' most important players
Cole Kmet
Some see Kmet as expendable, but he is arguably one of the ten best players on the roster. His ability as a quality tight end that demands respect allows the team to utilize Colston Loveland in a more versatile role.
Rome Odunze
Odunze is going to have to step into one of the top receiver roles with D.J. Moore out of the picture. His first year was excused due to a poor offensive environment, and he looked better in his second year, but got hurt. This is setting up for a crucial third season.
Luther Burden
Burden finished the year as one of the hottest receivers and is entering the year as one of the more hyped players across the NFL. Head coach Ben Johnson has not tried to quiet the hype train, either.
Dillon Thieneman
The rookie is already one of the most important players on the team. It does not help that Coby Bryant will be out of the majority of the season. So, the revamped safety room went from Thieneman and an experienced veteran to Thieneman being the big name.
He needs to have a big year.
Montez Sweat
Sweat is a consistent pass rusher and has been the best pass rusher on the Bears since they acquired him. Dayo Odeyingbo is coming back from an injury and Austin Booker is currently injured. The Bears are reliant on Sweat.
Colston Loveland
The receivers are valuable and might produce more than Loveland. However, his production makes the team work. Loveland can play wide receiver, tight end, and even fullback. His versatility makes it all work.
Jaylon Johnson
Johnson has not had this reputation is recent years, but he needs to get back to his All-Pro ways. The cornerback room is not very deep and the injuries make him an important piece.
Darnell Wright
They paid him like one of the best tackles in the NFL and now he has to perform like it.
Joe Thuney
Thuney is still the top offensive lineman. He should bring stability and continuity.
Caleb Williams
The offense will go as far as Williams takes them. How much has he grown in the offseason?
