Caleb Williams has been essentially flawless since returning from his hamstring injury. He's put up back to back 300 passing yard games with no interceptions against the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots, two defenses that are nothing to scoff at. He's still tapping into the rushing upside he had pre-injury, but that will come with time.
On Monday night, Williams will attempt to navigate the Seattle Seahawks defense, a unit that is playing at a record-breaking level. Not one quarterback has thrown for over 200 yards against Seattle, including the likes of Drake Maye, Brock Purdy, and Patrick Mahomes, who just got absolutely shut down last week. If Williams and the Bears offense can put up points on this defense, some serious conversations will need to be had.
Success in Seattle shows Super Bowl aspirations
Just about everything that we've seen from the Chicago Bears this season indicates that they're ready to make a playoff run, but the one thing that's missing is a Caleb Williams masterclass against a truly elite defense.
In week two against the Minnesota Vikings, Williams and the Bears offense really struggled, but given that it was a bad weather game only two weeks into the season, it's been all but fully put in the past. Williams has a new chance to show that he can dominate against a top tier defense, and he's poised to take it.
Seattle hasn't allowed big plays. Ben Johnson and the Bears offense need to take what they can get on Monday night and move the ball up the field. Luther Burden has truly broken out, Colston Loveland has gotten involved in the offense once again, and Rome Odunze, despite having some costly drops, has made big plays when it's mattered most.
If Williams plays up to his potential with these playmakers around him, Seattle's defense is not impossible to score against, and the Bears could be looking at a 6-2 record heading into a Sunday night matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
