The Chicago Bears were one of the most talked about teams in the NFL this offseason. They had the future of Justin Fields hanging in the balance as they owned the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

They obviously chose to select Williams and ship out Fields but now the real work starts. OTAs kicked off on May 20 for Chicago and they got to see how their full roster looks for the first time in 2024.

The college game is a different beast compared to the NFL and Williams is already getting a taste of that in practice.

Bears News: Caleb Williams Had A Rough Practice in OTAs

May 23 was Day 3 of Bears OTAs and was the first time practice was available for the media to watch.

Nicholas Moreano of CHGO Bears was present at practice and said that Williams struggled immensely in that session.

It's important to note that both WRs Rome Odunze and Keenan Allen didn't practice but Williams had his fair share of difficulties.

In 7 on 7, the USC product only completed three passes and had a couple of throws that were nearly intercepted.

Moreano reported that Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordan, and Tyrique Stevenson were exceptional in coverage and forced Williams into making tight window passes that consistently fell incomplete.

There's no reason to panic as Williams is getting his first introduction to an NFL-caliber defense.

If he were to struggle and make mistakes, this is the time for that to happen. Williams is still getting used to a new system and building a rapport with his receivers. Not to mention, the defense is here to compete as well so they are throwing different coverages at the offense.

Moreano added that the next practice open to media is on May 31 so we'll see if Williams and the offense can bounce back then.
