The Chicago Bears were an extremely active team this offseason. General manager Ryan Poles made it his mission to reshape the outlook on this team and he accomplished that in the offseason.

Chicago has a long list of new additions that include Keenan Allen, D'Andre Swift, Gerald Everett, Kevin Byard, and Rome Odunze. The biggest acquisition came at the quarterback position when they selected Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Williams adds a lot of excitement and buzz around the organization. However, a Tennessee Titans defender is already talking smack before their Week 1 tilt.

Bears News: Jeffery Simmons Can't Wait to Talk Trash to Caleb Williams

The Bears start the 2024 season at Soldier Field with the Tennessee Titans coming to visit on Sept. 8.

Williams will get to start his NFL career in front of his home crowd but Tennessee's defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons is already looking to talk some trash to the 22-year-old.

Simmons was a guest on "The Rich Eisen Show" where he said, "Painted nails. I can't wait to say that to him. Most definitely. Oh, it's gonna be one of them games. I mean, he probably gets smack-talked by his teammates right now, but especially a game like that. ... It's gonna be the first game of the season. They've got us coming to Chicago. All the hype's gonna be around them, of course."

He's not wrong. All the hype is around the Bears and a statement like this will only add to it. Simmons, a two-time Pro Bowler, has been an effective defender in the league since getting drafted in 2019. He's recorded 233 total tackles, 38 tackles for loss, and 26.5 sacks, displaying his ability to get into the backfield.

Meanwhile, Williams has been classified as a generational talent. Now Simmons would love to give Williams a welcome to the NFL moment.

This showcases the pull that Williams already has within the NFL. As we get closer to kickoff weekend, the more noise it will circulate.

Nevertheless, it is Williams' job to block out the noise and go out there to produce on the field. He has a target on his back and will carry throughout the 18-week season. He'll have to get used to it.
