After being drafted into the NFL, a lot of players like to say that they grew up fans of the team that selected them. It is a nice gesture but most fans and organizations understand it to be not exactly 100% factual every time.
That, however, is certainly not the case with the new Chicago Bears offensive tackle Kiran Amegadjie.
It turns out that the 75th-overall pick out of Yale has been a die-hard Bears fan for a long time, and has the receipts to prove it.

Once the Bears made the selection in the third round, fans started digging into Amegadjie's social media posts. What they saw was an Illinois native obsessed with the Bears.
Most of the social media posts are from 2020 when Amegadjie seems particularly frustrated with the Bears. As an offensive lineman, Amegadjie was consistently frustrated with the Bears' offense at the time.
Looking back at the tweets, Bears fans can relive the Matt Nagy era with Bill Lazor as the offensive coordinator and Mitch Trubisky as the quarterback, from the eyes of a then-18-year-old Amegadjie.

Born and raised in Hinsdale, Illinois, Amegadjie left the state to attend Yale. After four successful seasons there, he is returning to play for his beloved Bears. That must be a dream come true for the 22-year-old offensive tackle.
As of now, the Bears have Braxton Jones and Darnell Wright starting at tackles. Amegadjie will initially likely be a backup. But Chicago will hope to slowly integrate him as a starter and help develop a formidable partnership with Caleb Williams going forward.
