Lone NFL Network Expert Picks Bears to Beat Texans in Week 2
It was far from pretty, but the Bears won their home opener last week over the Titans to begin the season 1-0. They were four-point favorites in the game, however, so it was viewed as a game they should have won. That will not be the case this week when the Bears travel to Houston where they will be six-point underdogs.
Houston is coming off their own win on opening weekend against their rival Colts. This game will be Houston's home opener and is on Sunday night so the place will surely be rocking. Rookie quarterbacks on the road in prime time typically do not fare well so this will be a tough matchup for the Bears no doubt.
The media seems to agree with that almost unanimously as everyone at NFL Network looks to be picking the Texans to win this game. The Bears do have one believer, however, in Adam Rank. He has the Bears pulling off the upset, 17-16. For what it is worth, everyone else picking the Texans at least has the game being somewhat close with the largest point differential only being 13.
The above graphic was shared to flashback to when Mike Ditka was the only person to correctly pick the Bears beating Green Bay in 2013. Mike Ditka is obviously regarded as the best coach in Bears history so hard to say that pick wasn't with some bias. Adam Rank is also a known Bear fan so his pick can certainly be attributed to that as well.
We have definitely seen much crazier things happen in football than an upset on Sunday night football. The Bears can truly cement themselves as a quality team with a win over the Texans this week. Hopefully Adam Rank can take a victory lap through the NFL Network office come Monday.
