Justin Fields' Shocking Trade Value Revealed With Bears Future TBD
It's been an up-and-down three years for Justin Fields in Chicago. With the 2023 season coming to an end, the Bears have a big decision to make in the offseason regarding Fields' future in the Windy City. Across three seasons, Fields has thrown for 6,526 passing yards, rushed for 2,193 yards, and notched 54 total touchdowns.
Despite producing those numbers, the Ohio State product owns a measly 11-28 record as a starter in Chicago, which could lead to a potential exit this offseason. As the year winds down, rumors have begun to swirl regarding Fields' trade value around the league.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Chicago could net a second- or third-round pick for the young signal-caller if the front office decides to trade him. It's extremely difficult to find a quarterback in the NFL, so there will certainly be a few teams interested in Fields. The 24-year-old utilizes his raw athletic ability to create splash plays but has struggled in stretches during his first three years.
General manager Ryan Poles is the man forced to make a huge decision involving the most important position in football. The Bears own six total picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, including having already locked down the No. 1 pick due to last year's trade with the Carolina Panthers.
Chicago gave up the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft but received first- and second-round picks in 2023, a second-round pick in 2025, receiver D.J. Moore, and the uber-important first-overall pick in 2024.
This draft class features two quarterbacks whom many draft scouts and GMs think are generational. Caleb Williams of USC and Drake Maye of North Carolina will each be available if Chicago decides to move off of Fields and reset the clock on a rookie deal.
That sets the stage for a massive shakeup regarding the Bears' franchise quarterback this spring, if they choose to go down that path.
