The Chicago Bears officially cut ties on the Justin Fields era earlier this offseason, sending the former first-round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a draft pick. The writing was on the wall for Fields as Chicago had the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, which they used to take USC star quarterback Caleb Williams.

As the 2023 regular season progressed, Bears fans didn’t want to see Fields leave the team in the offseason, especially with how they played. However, Bears GM Ryan Poles believed that Chicago needed to go in a different direction at quarterback, which was Williams.

As for Fields, the young quarterback is now an afterthought in Chicago after the team drafted Williams at No. 1 overall. Fields still had a connection to the city as he lived in the area for his entire career, but now has officially severed that tie.

According to Bob Goldsborough of the Chicago Tribune, the former Bears quarterback listed his Lake Forest, Illinois house on Sunday for $2.1 million. It’s a nice house for the young QB, which includes six bedrooms and 5,876 square feet.

Fields reportedly bought the house in 2021 for $1.325 million. The young quarterback hopes to start a new future with the Steelers this season. Fields is the No. 2 quarterback behind vet Russell Wilson, who Pittsburgh signed to a one-year deal.

After how things transpired for Fields in the Windy City, he has a chance for a fresh start and to rewrite the narrative about himself. The former Ohio State quarterback has a ton of talent. He just needs to be able to develop and put it all together. Fields will have that opportunity in the Steel City this coming season.
