After a strong finish to the 2023 season (especially defensively) and now the high-profile additions of #1 overall pick Caleb Williams at quarterback and both Keenan Allen/Rome Odunze at wide receiver, the NFL understandably wants more eyes on the Chicago Bears in 2024.

In addition to playing the very first game of the NFL preseason in primetime (Hall of Fame game), the Chicago Bears will be featured three total times in primetime regular season games (as well as being featured in the NFL International Series vs. Jacksonville). The Bears also play on Thanksgiving this season in Detroit against the Lions.

The NFL is featuring them a lot.

Chicago Bears 2024 Primetime Games

  • Week 2: @ Houston Texans (Sunday Night Football)
  • Week 15: @ Minnesota Vikings (Monday Night Football)
  • Week 17: vs. Seattle Seahawks (Thursday Night Football)

How will the Bears do in these primetime matchups? Let's predict all three of them.

Week 2: Bears @ Texans (Sunday Night Football)

Especially early on in the season, the Sunday Night Football crew will have the chance to call one of the most interesting quarterback duels of the week. The Houston Texans boast the reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in CJ Stroud and the Chicago Bears are hoping they can have this year's version with #1 overall pick Caleb Williams.

Not only are the Bears hoping for a similar immediate return on investment in quarterback Caleb Williams, but they're hoping they can do what the Texans did last year and go from worst to first in their division. The NFC North may not exactly feel wide open at this point, but you never know.

This matchup on the road against a tough Houston team and a vastly upgraded DeMeco Ryans defense could be a brutal early test for Williams and the Bears' offense.

Prediction: Texans win 24-19
