Dansby Swanson Posts Epic Hype Video for Cubs Opening Day

The Chicago Cubs have the dubious honor of facing the reigning World Series champion Texas Rangers on Thursday night for Opening Day. The Cubs fell just short of making the playoffs last season, finishing one game behind the Arizona Diamondbacks for the last wild card spot in the National League.

However, many fans believe that this is the year the Cubs can win the National Central and punch their ticket to the playoffs. But for that to happen, they will need guys like Justin Steele, Cody Bellinger, Seiya Suzuki, and Dansby Swanson leading the way.

Swanson didn’t have a great first year with Chicago in 2023, hitting .244 with 22 home runs and 80 RBI.

That being said, the veteran shortstop is looking forward to the 2024 season and posted a dope hype video that should get Cubs fans excited about Opening Day.

The video opens up with Swanson at his first Cubs’ press conference and then jumps into a ton of his best plays at the plate and in the field from last season. 

The veteran infielder struggled a little bit at the plate in Spring Training, slugging .190 with two RBI and 12 RBI. However, Cubs fans hope that isn’t a sign of things to come as Swanson has been one of the better all-around second basemen in the majors.
