Colin Cowherd Proves Why Bears Fans Should Ignore All Caleb Williams Rumors Until Draft Day
By Thomas Erbe
3. Cowherd's agenda exposed on Chicago radio, lesson learned.
670 the Score was able to get Cowherd on the air on Friday afternoon where he all but confirmed the things he was saying originally were his own thoughts and feelings. He went on for about 10 minutes about how bad of a situation he thinks Chicago is for Williams because of their history of a lack of offense and questionable leadership.
Cowherd did try to make a point that Chicago was not Williams' only option. At the beginning of the call, he said he had just spoken to USC insiders who said they have fielded at least 5 calls from 5 different teams who wanted to do a background check on Williams because they were planning to offer trade packages for the 1st overall pick.
He also said that his reasoning for his comments on Thursday were due to a conversation had "8 or 9 weeks ago" about how Chicago may not be a great place to land.
When he was directly asked if Williams would be okay with being drafted by the Bears, he said yes, but then went back to how he felt about the Bears, the 5 teams calling USC, and his conversations from the past.
So, as this all will continue to unfold for seemingly forever, what have we learned? Bears fans, we will not know what is going to happen until the night of April 25th. The Bears, Williams, Cowherd, talk shows, bloggers, tweeters, you, and me are all as knowledgeable on how this will play out as anyone.
We have over 2 months of this to fight through. Strap in and hang on.
