The hype among Chicago Bears fans is incredibly high ahead of the 2024 season, with prized rookie quarterback Caleb Williams one of the primary driving forces behind the excitement.

Williams added to the belief he'll help turn this franchise around recently when he said he's aiming to win eight rings during his career, which is obviously one more than the recently retired Tom Brady's record-setting seven titles.

Well, it turns out Williams' remarks got back to Brady, who had something to say about them.

Brady noted that every player coming into the league has to find some type of "motivation" to set their eyes on. Obviously Williams' aims are at Brady's record, and the latter has no problem with that, saying he doesn't want to discourage any young player who's got lofty goals.

"I think that there’s a lot that goes into winning one (Super Bowl). You have to set your goals high, and I would never tell anyone they can’t achieve anything. If people had told me I couldn’t achieve anything, that would’ve been discouraging, and I don’t want people to discourage young athletes one bit."

It takes a lot of guts from Williams to be this transparent about what he wants to achieve. Anytime he falls short of progress on his goal, critics and haters alike will point to these comments to further rub salt in the wound.

That being said, Williams clearly has a strong belief in his talents to even bring up Brady's record being in his crosshairs. That kind of confidence may be unfounded, or perhaps that's the exact kind of attitude that's going to get him to the NFL's mountaintop some day(s).

Chicago's set up the former USC standout incredibly well for his first season of action by trading for Keenan Allen and drafting Rome Odunze. Now it remains to be seen if Williams knocks out ring No. 1 in his inaugural year.
