The Chicago Bulls have a range of questions that need to be answered this offseason. DeMar DeRozan is going to be an unrestricted free agent and question marks are surrounding the health of both Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine.

In addition, the Bulls own the 11th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft that takes place on June 26-27.

They have some reshuffling to do on the roster but the latest news showcases how ownership's input massively hindered their offseason.

Bulls News: Ownership Stopped Chicago From Trading Away Alex Caruso

The Bulls received plenty of trade interest in Alex Caruso at the deadline but ownership wanted the team to push for a playoff spot so they decided to keep the 30-year-old guard.

"According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the Bulls have received offers from multiple teams, consisting of multiple protected first-round picks. One of those deals included a pick in the top-10 of the 2024 Draft, the source said. The Golden State Warriors were among teams who made a strong offer for Caruso, multiple sources confirmed."

That was a massive mistake, as the Bulls went 39-43 and finished as the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Bulls had an opportunity to add another lottery pick and gain valuable assets for Caruso but ownership hasty decisions cost them.

In reality, even if Chicago made the postseason they wouldn't have been a serious threat. This team wasn't built for a deep playoff run.

It would have been a smart choice to move off of Caruso, especially for a Top 10 pick. Imagine having both the 10th and 11th picks in the draft with around $41 million in cap space. That could have been a path to rebuild this roster while gaining some young, cheap playmakers.

Or they could have packaged those picks to move into the Top 5 for a specific player. The options could have been endless but instead, ownership hamstrung this team.
