It's been a rough couple of years for the Chicago Bulls, failing to reach the postseason in six of the seven seasons. This past season, the Bulls went 39-43 and narrowly missed the playoffs as the ninth seed.

They need to find some answers regarding DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine this offseason. In addition, Chicago owns the No. 11 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

The latest report revealed that the Bulls are interested in trading up for one of the top prospects in the frontcourt.

Bulls News: The Bulls Are Interested in Trading Up For Donovan Clingan

According to DraftExpress, the Bulls, Trail Blazers, and the Grizzlies have expressed interest in trading up for UConn's Donovan Clingan.

Evan Sidery of ForbesSports and SportingNews added that Clingan's perimeter shooting has been impressive in private workouts.

Clingan stands at 7'2 and is a towering force in the lane. He's a defensive anchor due to his long arms and instincts as a shot blocker. Meanwhile, on the offensive end, Clingan sets hard screens but has a soft touch around the rim.

In 35 games during the 2023-24 season for the UConn Huskies, Clingan averaged 13 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Additionally, he was eighth in the country in blocks per game (2.46) and ninth in field-goal percentage (63.9%).

The Bulls do have Nikola Vucevic under contract for the next two seasons but he's already 33 years old. Outside of him, Chicago doesn't have any capable big man on the roster.

Moving up to snag Clingan could be a smart decision to potentially have him and Coby White as two young players this team can build around.

The futures of LaVine and Lonzo Ball hang in the balance due to their health, while DeRozan is slated to become a free agent this offseason.
