Bears Should Reunite With Former Star Receiver After Recent Release
The Chicago Bears are heading into a pivotal offseason for the team. They own the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and are sitting on $63 million in cap space.
There have been rumors swirling regarding the Bears quarterback spot. Will they keep Justin Fields or will they trade him and select a new signal caller?
One thing that is guaranteed is Chicago needs to upgrade the offense and a former Bear just hit the open market.
ESPN's Field Yates reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers released WR Allen Robinson.
Bears Rumors: Chicago Should Kick the Tires on an Allen Robinson Reunion
Robinson certainly isn't the same player he once was in his prime but he could be a nice veteran addition to Chicago's receiver core. The Penn State product still knows how to create separation and knows how to find the soft spots in zone.
D.J. Moore is the main playmaker in the aerial attack but the Bears need to add more quality pass-catchers for the upcoming season. Darnell Mooney is slated to become a free agent but is unlikely to return to the Windy City.
Regardless if it's Fields or a rookie QB under center, having a veteran pass catcher would help. Robinson played for the Bears from 2018-2021 and produced at a high level. The 30-year-old recorded 293 receptions for 3,561 receiving yards, and 18 receiving scores, including two 1,000-yard campaigns.
No one should expect that type of production if he does return to Chicago but he still could be a solid weapon in 2024.
The Chicago Bears need to ace this offseason to have a legit shot to win the NFC North. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Bears are +330 underdogs to win the division. If you want to take lock-in of these odds, head over to FanDuel Sportsbook and claim your sign-up bonus.
