The Chicago Bears offense has been one of the more disappointing units in the NFL through the first three weeks of the season.

On paper, the Bears’ offense was supposed to be one of the more exciting units in the league this season. However, offensive coordinator Shane Waldron hasn’t gotten everyone on the same page.

In Sunday’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago struggled to run the ball (63 yards/2.3 yards per carry) and allowed rookie quarterback Caleb Williams to get sacked four times. The rookie QB set the Bears’ single-game passing record for a rookie (363) but threw the ball 52 times, which is insane.

On Monday, Bears starting tight end Cole Kmet voiced his concern and frustration about the team’s offensive struggles.

“Right now, better is not good enough,” Kmet said when asked about the urgency facing the Bears offense to get things right (h/t ESPN’s Courtney Cronin).

After their five-point Week 3 loss to the Colts, the Bears are ranked 21st in scoring (17.7 points per game), 30th in rushing (72.7 yards per game), and 25th in passing (176.7 yards). Those numbers aren’t great, especially considering the names at the skill positions.

Meanwhile, Kmet has been the Bears’ second-best receiver despite the offensive issues. The 25-year-old tight end has 15 receptions (17 targets) for 128 yards and a touchdown. He had 10 receptions (11 targets) for 97 yards and a score in Sunday’s loss.

The Bears’ offense will try to get back on track in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Rams, who allowed 425 yards of total offense to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3.
