The Chicago Bears' 2023 campaign may have ended in disappointment as the team missed the playoffs for the third straight season with a 7-10 record. But, things are certainly looking up as the Bears are now on the clock with the first-overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Thank you Panthers!

The Carolina Panthers, who owed their first-round pick to the Bears because of the trade that landed them Bryce Young, finished with the worst record in the league this season. This means that Chicago will get the prized no. 1 overall pick for the first time since 1947.

Not only will the Bears have their pick of the litter, but they will also have the no. 9 overall pick after the tiebreaker between the other 7-10 teams, the Falcons, Jets, and Vikings, was determined based on strength of schedule.

The Bears have a total of six picks in the draft. That may not seem like enough but there is a decent chance GM Ryan Poles might find a way to add more to his stash.

Bears 2024 Draft Trades

Chicago has traded their second-round pick to the Washington Commanders in exchange for defensive end Montez Sweat mid-season, who was one of the best defenders on the team for the second half of the season.

However, they were able to get an additional fourth-round pick from the Philadelphia Eagles when they traded down from no. 9 to 10 in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Bears traded their sixth-round choice to the Dolphins in August in exchange for guard Dan Feeney and their seventh-round pick to the Patriots in 2022 in exchange for receiver N'Keal Harry.
