6 Bears on the Roster Bubble Heading Into Preseason Finale

4. Noah Sewell, Linebacker
If anyone happened to watch the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Detroit Lions this weekend, they might have seen Noah Sewell mentioned. His family line is incredibly impressive and it goes beyond his older brother, Penei Sewell, who is a starting offensive tackle for Detroit.
In fact, they weren't even discussing his brother when the Chicago linebacker was mentioned. Instead, it was when Kansas City took the field with Kingsley Suamataia at tackle. Suamataia is related to Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams as well as the Sewells. Three Sewell's are in the NFL right now with Nephi Sewell playing for the New Orleans Saints.
As impressive as their family line is, Noah Sewell isn't guaranteed a spot on the 53-man roster. He missed a lot of time this offseason and has fallen behind Amen Ogbongbemiga and Micah Baskerville.
"Sewell getting cut certainly appears to be a strong possibility. The 22-year-old LB has missed a significant portion of training camp so far this year. He also missed the Bears’ first two preseason games against the Houston Texans and Buffalo Bills, respectively." - Beth Mishler-Elmore, Heavy.com
At 6-foot-2 and 253 pounds, Sewell is a throwback linebacker who can stuff the run. Early in his career with Oregon, he appeared to be a day two selection but he never developed in coverage leading to his slide.
As a rookie, he had nine tackles and a forced fumble in 13 games. Most of that was on special teams where he had 270 snaps compared to just 27 on the base defense.
