3. Yannick Ngakoue, EDGE

This one is slightly different since Yannick Ngakoue won’t actually be playing on Sunday. The veteran defensive end already saw his season end in Week 14, sending him to the IR. Before suffering his injury, Ngakoue started 13 games but wasn’t very impactful.

Despite having at least eight sacks in every season he’s played in, Ngakoue was able to record just four during his time in Chicago. Their pass rush wasn’t great when he was their primary EDGE but improved significantly when they traded for Montez Sweat, who will be the focal point of their defensive line moving forward.

Ngakoue, who signed a one-year deal worth $10.5 million is a strange case. He was a third round pick for the Jacksonville Jaguars who proved to be very good at getting after the quarterback. He had 37.5 sacks in four years with them but hasn’t been able to find a home since.

In 2020, he started with the Minnesota Vikings before being traded to the Baltimore Ravens. He then spent 2021 with the Las Vegas Raiders and 2022 with the Indianapolis Colts. At each stop, he delivered but was never kept around. At this point, he’s basically the defensive version of Brandin Cooks and will more than likely be on the move again in 2024.
