6. Dante Pettis, Wide Receiver

One of the areas of the roster that has been overhauled -- to say the least -- is the wide receiver position in Chicago.

Over the last two years, it could be argued that no other NFL team has done as much as the Bears to substantially overhaul their wide receiver position. The Bears received former Panthers star DJ Moore in their blockbuster trade last offseason, and in 2024, they made another trade for a high-profile receiver, acquiring Keenan Allen from the Chargers.

They followed those moves up by drafting Rome Odunze 9th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Caleb Williams is going to have a lot of options in the passing game, but will Dante Pettis be one of them? The Bears also have to be encouraged by some of the bright spots last year they saw in rookie Tyler Scott, who will be entering his second NFL season in 2024. They have former third-round pick Velus Jones Jr. still on the roster, and he stands to benefit greatly from the NFL's new kickoff return rules.

The same could be said of Nsimba Webster.

It's a little tough to find a spot for Pettis, who caught three touchdowns for the Bears in 2022 but didn't play last season. The former second-round pick will have a chance to crack the roster during training camp and preseason games, but he will need to show tremendous value on special teams to beat out the other guys.
