5 Most Important Bears Free Agent Targets in 2024
4. Geno Stone: Free Safety, Baltimore Ravens
Once again, I am stealing another player from the Baltimore Ravens in free agency. With the release of Jackson, the Bears have a hole in the safety position.
Jaquan Brisker is on the opposite side at strong safety. But due to his physical style of play, he gets hurt often. If Brisker can stay healthy and the Bears can also find a legitimate starter at free safety, that is an improvement.
There are some solid options everywhere, so the Bears need to determine the best path forward. The draft includes some top-tier talent this year. Hypothetically speaking, if they trade Justin Fields and can get a first or second-round pick in return, you can get on one of those guys.
However, free agency has phenomenal talent at safety that the Bears should not shy away from. Antoine Winfield Jr., Kyle Dugger, Xavier Mckinney, and Jordan Whitehead are great.
But Chicago should consider Geno Stone. The Baltimore Ravens have two phenomenal players at safety. Marcus Williams and Kyle Hamilton are a legitimate top-five safety duo in the entire league. Where does that leave Stone?
He could stay in Baltimore, be a key reserve, and try to contend for a Super Bowl. Or Stone could test the market and sign a big deal. That would secure him longevity with an organization and a starting position. His style of play would complement Brisker.
