5 Blackhawks Who Won't Return Next Season

Now that the NHL regular season is over, Chicago Blackhawks fans shouldn't expect to see these five players back on the 2024-25 roster.

4. D Jarred Tinordi

The Blackhawks were a bottom-five team when it came to allowing goals this season and defenseman Jarred Tinordi's play was a factor in that shortcoming.

Tinordi, 32, struggled to support Chicago's goaltenders this season. Not only has the veteran blue liner given the puck away more than five times more (21) than he's taken it away (4), but the Blackhawks' netminders own a putrid .876 save percentage when he's on the ice. His Corsi percentage also shows that the opposition controls the puck for 64.3% of the time when he's playing.

In other words, bringing back Tinordi is the last thing that the Blackhawks need to do this offseason. His presence in the lineup is a negative and it'd be detrimental if his bad habits continue to rub off on Chicago's young defensemen. Like Zaitsev, I don't see the team struggling to find an upgrade for him this offseason.

Unless Blackhawks management sees something in Tinordi that I don't, I fully expect him to be with another organization in 2024-25.
