5 Bears That Need to be More Involved Ahead of Sunday Night Football

The Bears were able to come back against the Titans in Week one for the win, but they will need to be much better to pull off an upset this week in prime time against the Houston Texans.

They say you should never apologize for a win and that is exactly the message that is surely being thrown around Halas Hall this week. The Bears' offense looked absolutely terrible for the majority of the game last week, but thanks to their special teams and defense, the Bears were able to pull off the victory.

Fingers can be pointed at everyone on offense for their subpar game including the interior offensive line, drops by receivers, Shane Waldron's usage of certain players, and of course rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. 148 yards of total offense might be able to get you a win against the Tennessee Titans, but the Bears will almost positively need more out of that group to get past the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football.

The Texans are coming off a road win against their rival Indianapolis Colts with this being their home opener. It will surely be rocking in Houston on Sunday night as we will get our first look at Caleb Williams in prime time. The good news for Bears' fans is that it can't possibly go any worse than last week, right? Let's check out five players who need to be more involved for the Bears' upcoming Sunday Night tilt with the Texans.

1. D'Andre Swift, RB

The Titans jumped out to a 17-3 lead over the Bears last week which may be why they abandoned the run game. Swift only carried the ball 10 times for 30 yards. In fact, one of those runs went for 20 yards so he really had a worse game on the ground than the already abysmal stat line shows. Swift was a highlight of Bears' camp and looked to be one of their true playmakers heading into the season, but simply did not get the start anyone was hoping for.

A decent run game is any quarterback's best friend, especially a rookie quarterback. A run game also helps a struggling offensive line get into a rhythm which is desperately what the Bears need after week one. Some of Williams' best throws thus far have come off play-action boot rollouts. Well, for those plays to be effective the run game has to be at least respectable. The Bears will need to get Swift involved often and early if they want to keep this game close or pull off the upset.
