3. Trade for Broncos EDGE Baron Browning

The Denver Broncos aren't exactly in a position to be trading away their top young players right now, but they have a unique situation off the edge that the Bears could end up benefiting from.

Denver's top players off the edge right now are Jonathon Cooper, Nik Bonitto, and Baron Browning. Browning is a converted off-ball linebacker who has elite traits for the EDGE position and has slowly been able to show the team flashes of what he can be at that position. But the 2024 season will already be a contract year for Browning, who spent his first season in Denver learning and his next two dealing with a position change and injury issues.

It wouldn't be a surprise at some point in the 2024 NFL Draft if the Broncos were looking to flip one of their young pass rushers, especially if they are serious about putting 2023 third-round pick Drew Sanders back on the edge full time.

Browning would be an intriguing buy-low candidate for a lot of teams if the Broncos were actually willing to let him hit the trade market.

One way or another, it looks like the most intriguing potential deals to be made for the Bears before the NFL Draft involve pass rushers, and that's an area where they could perhaps use some of their 2025 NFL Draft capital to further upgrade the pass rush opposite Montez Sweat.
