3 Ideal Trade Destinations for Justin Fields With Bears' Season Over

The Chicago Bears might decide to move on from Justin Fields in the offseason. He should be traded to one of these three teams.

The Chicago Bears have a major decision to make on quarterback Justin Fields' future in the offseason. You can thank having the No. 1 overall pick for that.

Fields has also played a role by not completely locking down the franchise quarterback position. He still has room to grow in three key areas to fully thrive as a QB: anticipatory throws, beating zone defenses with his arm, and getting rid of the ball quickly.

Having Fields also puts him in conflict with the chance to draft USC's Caleb Williams or North Carolina's Drake Maye. Williams is considered a generational talent and Maye might be better at slinging the football than Fields. That makes it very hard to pass up on these talents to give Fields another year to see if he can keep growing as a passer to complement his amazing play-making ability with his legs.

You are not going to draft Williams or Maye to have one of them sit behind Fields. That is why it is going to be one or the other.

If the Chicago Bears decide to move on, the belief around the league is Fields should net a second- or third-round pick. The Bears lack a second-rounder in the 2024 NFL Draft thanks to the Montez Sweat trade.

Getting a second-round choice for Fields from these teams would make the Sweat trade even better...

New York Giants

Washington and New England need quarterbacks, but they are in a position to get Maye or Williams too. Those teams are bereft of talent and trading for a veteran does not make sense. The Giants might think they are a veteran away from getting back in the playoff race.

Head coach Brian Daboll has had to work with Daniel Jones, Tyrod Tylor, and Tommy DeVito this season. The results have been a disaster thanks to injuries (Jones) or inconsistent play (DeVito).

Daboll might finally want an athletic quarterback like Fields to run his offense much like when he had Josh Allen in Buffalo.

The Giants have two second-round picks. Their second should be in the early part of the round while the other pick they have from Seattle should fall somewhere in the middle of the second.

Atlanta Falcons

This is the team that has been tied to trading for Fields the most. He is from Georgia and the Falcons employ Ryan Pace, Chicago's general manager at the time when the organization picked Fields.

Atlanta needs a quarterback in the worst way after giving Desmond Ridder a try this season. The Falcons' second-round pick is projected to be in the top 10 on that day,

Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders team that desperately needs a quarterback after the Jimmy Garoppolo experiment failed miserably. They are not in a position to get Williams or Maye. They might not even be in a position to draft LSU's Jayden Daniels.

That is why they could be motivated to get a veteran like Fields. Plus, this is the Raiders. This organization loves to make splash trades. Their second-rounder projects to be in the top 10 of that day as well.
