It was a heartbreaking end to the season for the San Francisco 49ers. They went into halftime with the Super Bowl lead and were a single play away from being champions. But then Patrick Mahomes happened, the defense got tired out, and the Kansas City Chiefs won their second straight championship.
A lot of the 49ers' offseason is going to be centered around the quarterback position. They must determine if Brock Purdy can win a championship or if he is hindering them from winning it all. They must decide that, but they can also beef themselves up elsewhere.
Adding Johnson to this secondary could be lethal to opposing offenses and catapult the Niners into being the league's best team. Whether Purdy is the quarterback or someone else is, with Johnson on this defense, they wouldn't need to do too much.
As heartbreaking as the Super Bowl was for the 49ers, you have to believe they are right in the window to find a championship soon.
