3 Teams Emerge as Favorites for Justin Fields Trade
By Jovan Alford
With the 2024 NFL Draft on the horizon, all signs point to the Chicago Bears taking USC QB Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick and the Justin Fields era ending in the Windy City.
Fields’ future with the team has been a hot-button discussion throughout the regular season, which has carried over into the offseason. For a while, we didn’t know the teams who could be interested in a potential trade for the former Ohio State standout.
However, we know three teams, including two from the AFC, with their eyes on the young quarterback.
Bears Rumors: Justin Fields Garners Trade Interest From Multiple Teams
Tyler Dragon of USA TODAY reported on Monday that the Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders, and Pittsburgh Steelers “have expressed some level of interest in Fields.”
This is interesting to note as the betting odds for Fields’ next team are down on DraftKings, but the Bears are -900 to take Williams with the No. 1 overall pick. All three of those teams that are interested in Fields could all use an upgrade at quarterback.
The Falcons had another underperforming season in 2023, finishing 7-10 as Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke didn’t move the needle at quarterback. The same thing can be said for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who made the playoffs and won 10 games. However, that was with Mason Rudolph at quarterback, not Kenny Pickett.
Pickett has had an underwhelming start to his NFL career like Ridder, who were both a part of the same draft class.
Finally, the Las Vegas Raiders rolled with rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell over veteran Jimmy Garoppolo. But they are a team looking to win now with the vets they have on both sides of the ball.
Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see how the Fields’ trade market shakes out and how it will impact not only his new team but the Bears, too.
