The Bears had some players that may have been overlooked and played well, but also some that may have gotten more praise than they should have.

2. Eddie Jackson

Remember when Eddie Jackson picked off Matthew Stafford on Thanksgiving in 2018 to seal a Bears victory? Since then we have seen Stafford win a Super Bowl with the Rams, Jared Goff lead the Lions to an NFC Championship game, and Jackson miss roughly 300 tackles.

It seems as the minute Eddie Jackson signed that $58.4M contract in 2020 his play has diminished. He saw career lows across the board in 2023 appearing in only 12 games tallying just 37 total tackles one interception. That lone interception was also against Joe Flacco who threw it directly at him.

I think most Bears fans agree when I say it is likely and wanted that Jackson is cut. The Bears will create an additional $12.5M in cap space by cutting him. It'd be easy for Chicago to find his replacement in the upcoming draft.
