The Chicago Bears are awaiting the 2024 NFL Draft. Ever since they landed the No. 1 overall pick, Bears fans have been counting down the days until April 25 when they finally get their franchise quarterback.

As exciting as Caleb Williams in a Bears uniform will be, there are other holes the team needs to address ahead of the draft. Chicago only has picks 1, 9, 75, and 122 in the draft, meaning that they can't only rely on the draft to fill the holes on the roster. They still need to make a few free-agent signings to better prepare themselves for the incoming young talent.

Here are three players still on the market who make a lot of sense for the Bears.

Ryan Tannehill, QB

The Bears will have Caleb Williams at the helm next season and they should give him the keys to the offense immediately. They still need more adequate backups behind him. An experienced veteran who could mentor the young signal-caller will do wonders for his development.

Brett Rypien, who the Bears signed in free agency, is not that guy. Ryan Tannehill, on the other hand, could be.

Tannehill is the best remaining quarterback on the market. The 35-year-old started 20 games for the Tennessee Titans over the last two seasons but he is better suited for a backup role at this stage of his career.

With extensive starting experience and dual-threat ability, Tannehill could be the ideal fit behind Williams.

Over the last two seasons, the former first-round pick threw 17 touchdowns to 13 interceptions, while adding three rushing scores. The Bears aren't going to find a better option as a backup quarterback than Tannehill at this stage of the offseason.
