3 Bulls on the Trade Block This Offseason

The Chicago Bulls are likely looking to rebuild their roster during the upcoming NBA offseason. With that in mind, these three players will likely find themselves on the summer trade block.

3. Nikola Vucevic, C

If the Bulls are planning to blow it all up this offseason, all moves must be on the table. That includes potentially trading Nikola Vucevic, who just signed a three-year, $60 million contract extension with the franchise last July.

Vucevic was one of the best centers in the NBA, but that hasn't been the case since joining the Bulls. While he still averaged 18.0 points and 10.5 rebounds last season, his three-point shooting — which made him a bigger threat early in his career — is no longer what it was as he only put up 1.2 threes made per game with a 29.4% success rate.

Vucevic will turn 34 shortly after the 2024-25 campaign ends, meaning he likely won't revert to his old self. It wouldn't be that big of an issue if he was on an expiring contract, but the ex-USC Trojan is signed for $20 million next season and $21.4 million in 2025-26. In other words, Chicago likely wouldn't mind moving on soon if it helps open a roster spot to speed up the rebuild.

Don't get me wrong, Vucevic isn't totally washed by any means. He can still put up a double-double on any given night while playing over 30 minutes per game. His declining play and athleticism simply make for a bad fit on a young team, making him more suitable for a contender where he'll take on a lesser role.
