3. DeAndre Carter, wide receiver/return specialist

The Chicago Bears are absolutely loaded at the wide receiver position going into the 2024 NFL season. It's one of the primary reasons why so many people are eager to see Caleb Williams out there as a rookie, beyond just the fact that he was the #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

You don't often see a #1 overall pick immediately step onto the field with three receivers who have Pro Bowl abilities.

Not only do the Bears have great top-end talent at the wide receiver position, but they've got some intriguing depth as well. We saw some nice moments in the preseason from second-year player Tyler Scott, a speedy receiver out of Cincinnati who could be the next man up at receiver behind those top three guys.

The Bears are also still listing Velus Jones Jr. with the wide receivers, even though he's been cross-training at the running back position. The one guy who made the roster whose status will be worth monitoring as the season goes along is veteran DeAndre Carter. Carter has plenty of experience returning kicks and punts in the NFL (250 total returns) but he's going to have a newcomer to the practice squad nipping at his heels.

The Bears added former Packers 7th-round pick Samori Toure at roster cuts after he was waived by Green Bay, and Toure is a young option in the return game who could end up being someone the Bears look to this season in that department.

Especially if Chicago risks losing Toure at some point this season, we could see them promote him to the 53-man roster in order to prevent other teams from snatching him up. If the Bears do end up promoting Toure at some point this season, I could see it being Carter who gets the axe to make room.
