2. Dominique Robinson, edge rusher

One of the position groups we know the Bears might like to upgrade -- thanks to HBO's Hard Knocks -- is the edge rusher position group.

Over the course of the Hard Knocks season, we saw behind the scenes as the Bears were one of just a couple of "finalists" in the trade derby for former Patriots pass rusher Matthew Judon. The Atlanta Falcons ended up winning the bidding war, but the bidding war itself was proof that the Bears would like to add at this position opposite Montez Sweat if the price is right.

We saw them make a bit more of a modest trade to acquire Darrell Taylor from the Seattle Seahawks, but that could end up just being the tip of the iceberg.

One player who will be on the chopping block as the season progresses for the Bears is 2022 fifth-round pick Dominique Robinson. Robinson is a raw edge player who came into the league with the understanding that his development was going to take some time. But the Bears may not have the luxury of time -- or a 53-man roster spot -- should the right opportunity to add a player present itself.

If the Bears are able to swing a trade at some point this season to acquire a pass rusher, it wouldn't shock me in the least to see them move on from Robinson, who is currently listed as the fifth edge player on the depth chart behind Sweat, Taylor, DeMarcus Walker, and rookie fifth-round pick Austin Booker, who had impressive moments throughout the course of training camp and the preseason.
