3 Bears Who Will Be Traded by the End of October

The Chicago Bears are 2-2 to begin the 2024 NFL season. However, if they begin to trend in the wrong direction, these three players could be traded soon.

3. Khalil Herbert, RB

Khalil Herbert is another veteran who the Bears could move this month. The fourth-year running back has seen his role diminish more than ever this season, meaning it might be best to cut ties with the former 2021 sixth-round selection.

Herbert, 26, went from averaging 12.7 touches per game in 2023 to 2.5 this season. The even more unfortunate part is that he hasn't made the most of his limited opportunities, turning eight carries into just 16 rushing yards and a touchdown while catching his only two targets for four more yards.

D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson's backfield presence and solid production also impacted why Herbert's weekly opportunities are diminishing. The ex-Kansas/Virginia Tech RB saw zero offensive snaps in Week 4 after averaging seven in the three previous outings.

Herbert is set to hit free agency in the offseason and it doesn't seem like the Bears have a concrete reason to bring him back. If general manager Ryan Poles already doesn't see Herbert in the team's future, it's best to trade him to an RB-needy team now — even if it's only for a late-round pick.
