It's a huge relief that the Chicago Bears won their first game of the season. However, some changes need to be made. Here are three starters who already need to be benched.

3. Nate Davis, RG

Similarly to Velus Jones Jr, the Chicago Bears have had a recurring problem with right guard Nate Davis. The biggest issue with him has been his availability. Davis has missed a lot of time due to injury.

Davis has since returned to the field but has not provided the Bears with consistently good offensive line play. He has struggled tremendously. Head coach Matt Eberflus seems to share his frustration and lack of patience for Davis. He struggled in the preseason against non-starters, blew several blocks, and showed no consistent play. He has a lack of energy. The frustration and aggravation are understandable. Hence, why he benched him and replaced him with offseason trade acquisition, Ryan Bates.

Ideally, the offensive line was supposed to be Braxton Jones, Teven Jenkins, Ryan Bates, Nate Davis, and Darnell Wright. That has changed and expect Davis to not receive much playing time if he continues to struggle. Davis can ride the bench the rest of the year if Ryan Bates is healthy.

Then, the Bears will most likely cut him next offseason and find his replacement. Ideally, you want to move Teven Jenkins back to right guard. He sacrificed a lot during his time with the Bears and has been constantly moved around. The ideal offensive line would be Teven Jenkins and Darnell Wright on the right side. You would put your best offensive lineman next to Wright, which allows Wright to take more time to develop and ease the pressure off of him.

For the remainder of the season, the Bears should not hesitate to put Davis on the bench. You need to see what lies ahead with Bates at the guard position. With that being said, the interior offensive line is a huge problem and needs to be addressed in the offseason. If Teven is re-signed, that solves one issue. The question is, how will Ryan Poles approach it? Can he re-sign Jenkins to a team-friendly deal?

He was able to do that for Cairo Santos and Jaylon Johnson. Then all he would need to do is find a long-term center and another guard.
