3 Bears Starters Who Will Be Replaced in the NFL Draft
3. Braxton Jones, OT
Alright, we took two pretty easy ones to start this one off. Now we've got to ruffle some feathers a bit.
The Chicago Bears may have found their franchise left tackle of the present and future in Braxton Jones. They took Darnell Wright in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, so the tackle position would seem to be in good hands, right?
Well, Bears GM Ryan Poles specifically called out the depth of the tackle class as something that stood out to him in this year's draft, and while that doesn't necessarily mean anything, it could end up being that the best available player with that 9th overall pick for Chicago could be an offensive tackle.
Players like Notre Dame's Joe Alt, Oregon State's Taliese Fuaga, Georgia's Amarius Mims, Washington's Troy Fautanu, Alabama's JC Latham, and plenty of others will be a factor in the top 10-20 picks in this draft. It could be the Bears' ticket to trade down and gain a much-needed second-round pick, or they could find themselves in a position to take a tackle that could ultimately replace Braxton Jones.
