The Chicago Bears have to stop the bleeding here in the early portion of the 2024 season quickly, or they will fall so far behind the other teams in the division that they become irrelevant before the month of November.

Everybody expected the Bears to hit the ground running with Caleb Williams under center, and that was perhaps a bit of an unfair expectation given the fact that Williams is, you know -- a rookie quarterback in the NFL. It's not an easy gig, there's no doubt about it.

And Williams has learned the hard way, but the Bears have to be better around him as well.

So which Bears players find themselves on thin ice as the team approaches a Week 4 matchup at home against a Los Angeles Rams team coming off a hard-fought win in Week 3?

Bears RB D'Andre Swift Leads Players on Thin Ice in Week 4

1. D'Andre Swift, RB

Perhaps the player under the most pressure to perform as we enter Week 4 for the Chicago Bears is running back D'Andre Swift. Swift has been coming under a lot of fire on Twitter/X for his lack of vision as a ball carrier early on this season for the Bears, and people are wondering if the team made a massive mistake by signing him to a three-year contract worth $24 million.

Paying running backs in free agency is always going to carry inherent risk, but you expect more return on investment than the 1.8 yards per carry that Swift has averaged through the first three games of the season.

The Bears are 31st in the NFL in rushing yards and 31st in yards per attempt. The fact that their big-money free agent signing at the position is not even averaging two yards per rush right now is absolutely pathetic.

Swift is more than on thin ice this week for the Bears and probably every week going forward. He needs to provide a spark to the offense, not make it worse.
