3. Braxton Jones, OT

One player who could be a surprise trade candidate for the Bears during the 2024 NFL Draft is current starting left tackle Braxton Jones.

Now, this one seems a little bit more far-fetched because Jones is a solid player and he's got two years left on his rookie deal. The Bears don't have to move on from him, by any means. This type of move would be totally dependent on what happens with the 9th overall pick for the Bears, where they could just as easily take an offensive tackle as they could another wide receiver.

The popular mock draft pick for the Bears at #9 overall is whoever is left between LSU's Malik Nabers, Washington's Rome Odunze, or Ohio State's Marvin Harrison. Obviously, if the Bears have a shot at one of those guys, it's possible they could come away with not only the best quarterback in the draft, but also potentially the best non-quarterback as well.

Notre Dame's Joe Alt, Washington's Troy Fautanu, Oregon State's Taliese Fuaga, Alabama's JC Latham, and Penn State's Olu Fashanu are all players worthy of that 9th overall pick for Chicago, and every single one of them would likely push Braxton Jones out of the starting lineup.

If that's the case, then the Bears could probably get something decent for Jones, who offers starter upside with two years left on his rookie deal. A 4th-round pick for him would be a reasonable return.
