11 Bears Who Will Be Cut By Tuesday's Roster Deadline
9. Jamree Kromah, Edge Rusher
Much has been made of the Chicago Bears' need for one more good edge rusher across from Montez Sweat this offseason. Fans were disappointed when the Bears didn't land Matthew Judon, and fifth-round pick Austin Booker is not someone who can be relied on yet.
The Bears did end up pulling off a trade at the position though, adding 49-game veteran Darrell Taylor in a deal with the Seattle Seahawks the day after the preseason finale against the Chiefs.
That means the position, which was already likely to see a couple players cut, has become especially expendable on the bottom end.
Kromah is the easy pick. He's had plenty of opportunity this preseason (playing 62 snaps), and has failed to make any sort of significant impact. He did have a couple of pressures, but showing up for one or two "hey that was a pretty good play!" moments across 62 snaps isn't what's going to secure your job.
PFF gave him an overall grade of 57.9 this preseason (including a brutal 50.3 pass rush grade), and he's likely the first edge rusher on the chopping block.
