11 Bears Who Will Be Cut By Tuesday's Roster Deadline
10. Dominique Robinson, Edge Rusher
Let's stick on the edge, shall we? There were likely already going to be a few cuts at the position, and the Taylor trade is further confirmation.
The Bears had five different edge rushers play in all five of their preseason contests. This battle for the reserves spots was clearly an important one for the coaching staff, and the heavy rotation allowed everyone to get a decent number of looks.
Usually having to play preseason snaps is a potential negative, but in a battle like this a player getting more snaps is probably a good sign. The coach wants to see the player prove themselves even more. They've earned the opportunity to show what they can do. These guys want to be on the field.
So guys like Halid Kareem (114 snaps) and Daniel Hardy (109), while they may not ultimately end up making the final roster, have a real chance.
Then there's Dominique Robinson. His 61 snaps were the low-water mark in the EDGE rotation, even trailing Kromah. He's also the only one in the group who arguably played worse than Kromah in the preseason. His pass rush looked a little better, maybe, but he was an absolute liability in run defense.
