Pete Crow-Armstrong is a name that's been almost impossible to avoid if you've been around Chicago for the last few months. Even those without any knowledge of baseball seem to know who this kid is, and it's for good reason. He's taken Chicago baseball by storm, and it's been something gracious to see. There's no questions surrounding his MVP talks.

The Cubs reached the All-Star break in second place. Not in a perfect position, but in a spot that will be a good kickoff point to battle back to the top. Six games out isn't exactly a lot when there's still 80+ games to play. But given injuries and the pain of the first season being in the rear-view mirror, now is a good time for the Cubs, and PCA, to reset and fall in line.

Pete Crow-Armstrong became the heartbeat of the Cubs

PCA has become synonymous with Cubs baseball this season. He's a thrill to watch when he's in the outfield, and he's been nothing short of exciting when he comes up to the plate. Through the first half of the season, PCA totaled 21 home runs, a .291 batting average, and a .917 OPS. June alone saw PCA batting a .381 average, and he showed no signs of stopping heading into the All-Star game.

The Cubs have been immensely thankful to have PCA on their team. He won a gold glove in 2025, and all signs point to him winning another one in 2026. He's leads the Cubs in basically every category. From batting average, to hits, PCA has been the guy. He's played in the most games, is top three in at-bats, scored more runs than anyone else. This guy has been a machine, and the trade for him is starting to look like the trade of Jed Hoyer's career.

The Cubs have plenty of talent capable of carrying them through the second half, but Crow-Armstrong has proven he's the one who sets the standard. If Chicago is going to climb back to the top of the NL Central, don't be surprised if it's their young superstar leading the charge every step of the way.
