After losing the way the Chicago Bears did to the Green Bay Packers in Week 11, it's no surprise there's been plenty of discussion around the final moments of Sunday's contest. Following that shocking implosion on Cairo Saints' field goal attempt, many have focused on how poorly head coach Matt Eberflus did his job in the waning seconds and called for his firing once again.

However, Eberflus and co. have expressed little regrets with how the FG attempt played out. The Bears have even submitted the blocked kick to the league, citing a penalty that should've been called on Green Bay for impermissible contact with the long snapper.

While the team awaits any possible response on the matter, the NFL has made a separate announcement that involves this Week 11 clash.

On Wednesday, the league office revealed Packers defensive lineman Karl Brooks, who was the one that got his finger tips on the field goal attempt, has been named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Week.

Considering Chicago's valid grievances with the play, it might be hard for the organization to not perceive this as spitting in their faces.

After the contest Brooks' teammate, Lukas Van Ness, admitted to pushing him to get extra leverage on the Santos kick. The NFL specifically states that kind of action is a penalty, but it wasn't flagged on Sunday and resulted in the Packers' victory.

So the NFL has essentially rewarded a Packers player with a league-wide honor for being the beneficiary of a penalty that its refs missed. And this is all while Chicago has requested the league to look into that moment, so the commissioner's office can't chalk Brooks' POTW selection to ignorance.

Given's how wrong this season has gone, this announcement shouldn't come as a surprise, but it sure does make the loss sting even more,
